Formerly, this 3 ecluses port was a routing point for travelers and goods towards the City of Carcassonne. Later, it became a dividing point between the Canal du Midi, created by Paul Riquet during the XVIIth century, and the one built under Napoleon, bringing the canal into the heart of the City of Carcassonne. Today, the Epanchoir de Foucaud and its landscaped gardens is a magical site you may access by boat from the Port de Carcassonne, with the Helios and Lou Gabaret boats. During your cruise, you will have the opportunity to make a stopover in the Oc Garden, at lunch time for a picnic, at sunset for a jazz concert and every Thursday for a local food tasting. This site also makes a very unique set up for an event (Anniversary, seminar...) and an unusual place to organise a travelling exhibition (in the former lockkeeper's house or in the garden).
